Karaoke goes typographic — and bilingual — in this playful experiment from MC Tingbudong, who used Stepworks to build an interactive lyric player for the track “Thru My Window” from his 2021 release “Viral”. An experiment in international music production, the song brought together six artists from across China and the Asian diaspora to write and record in real time (you can see the video of their collab at the link).

How to play

1. Click “Play now” and look for the red “Click or tap to begin” message at the bottom of the page. 
2. Below it you'll see a SoundCloud embed of the song — start it playing, and then click on the message. 
3. Clicks, taps, or keypresses will cause lyrics from the song (in English, Mandarin Chinese, and phonetic renderings) to be shown.
